first abstruents and sonorants are types of sounds according to the way they are produced basically how the differents parts of your mouth are opened and closed .
abstruents are consonants sounds while sonorants are vowels and consonants .
abstruents can be divided into stops , fricatives and affricates while sonorants can be divided to nasals and approximants in addition to vowels .
